- His name means “sapphire” in French.
- He was the younger brother of Prince Dimande.
- Unlike his manga counterpart, the anime Saphir was a pacifist and he never physically harmed anyone on-screen.
- Saphir did not wear the earrings made from the Evil Black Crystal.
- In the manga, Prince Dimande killed Saphir, who was under Black Lady’s control.
- Tsutomu Kashiwakura also voiced Kijin Shinokawa in episode 17.
